Ashley the talking tree

ashley in Dragonspyre

Oh look a talking tree named Ashley.
And you want me to what? Be a hero and go face Malistaire??!
Dude seriously this is a joke right?
Funny I can’t see any hidden camera’s, and I suppose you arent even going to offer to go with?
Laugh it up funny man.
Remind me not to send you a Christmas card this year.

Can you gift me

Or sometimes they start off by asking “do you have crowns?”
No wait don’t run away, I’m not asking, I’m simply stating what others ask me.

If you’ve been playing this game for any length of time you’ve been asked that question so many times it makes your ears ring.
How do you respond to a question like that without hurting their feelings?
Surely you can’t just laugh and say I wouldnt gift you if you were the last wizard in this city!

Luckily I have developed a few genious and perhaps slightly devious responses for these types of questions.
So here you go and i hope they get you out of a tight spot at least once.

FrostFlower in Wintertusk

Ugh WinterBranch

Yes I finally made it, and I have to admit it can be very tough at times but I’m doing a bit better than I expected. The majority of the creatures I fight here are ice as well and they seem to have a very high resist against my spells. Anyway if you are a Thaumaturge (or ice) wizard like myself I can give you a few words of advice.

First thing is my second school is life, and I took it all the way up to Centaur, so that gives me several spells that the ice monsters wont readily protect themselves from. Another thing I like to do is keep different school attacks in my treasure deck, for me I’ve found firedragon to be not only a nice hit for ice but also a great way to remove all those tower shields they enjoy stacking.

And last but not least bring a friend or find some in the area, if nothing else I carry a life amulet and have saved many from a fate worse than… um well a fate “of” death.

I’m sure everyone has their own methods of beating this area but these are simply mine and perhaps they will help. Anyway, I’m still in Wintertusk and will be here for some time. What a great place for experience points to level and great items that sell in the bazaar to help my with my next pet hatch.

And remember to search for reagents in this area, they are all over the place, dont forget to gather them as you go since there are still several great items to craft through the next few worlds.

See you around the Spiral.

Watchtower Hall

wizard101 watchtower hall

Finally I have crafted the Watchtower Hall and what a magnificent house it is. And what a great sense of accomplishment I feel to have spent the time and effort.

Needless to say it’s a very rare house to own and friends who come to visit enjoy exploring the place.
Now comes the fun part of shopping at the bazaar to furnish the home and make it mine.

Thank you King Isle for making this such a nice place for all the effort it takes to craft it.

If you see me around the Spiral just ask if you can come and look around. And if you decide to craft the Watchtower house for yourself just remember to take it slow, don’t get discouraged and soon you can have one for yourself.
Also dont forget that many of the reagants needed to craft this can be found in the bazaar.
Good Luck and see you around the Spiral.

Farming for Reagants

In Vestrilund you can find 3 Black Lotus very close together with the occasional Black Pearl dropping with them. At this time this area is not heavily farmed and definitely one of my favorite places to gather this reagant.

Hyde Park

Hyde Park is a great place to farm for Cat tails and often a Water lily or a kelp can also be found to drop as well. Just get all five and port to the next realm for five more and then port again. I generally found all the Reagant items I needed of this type in that area.

Mirkholm Keep

In Mirkholm Keep right near Herkir you can find two frost flowers and three cat tails, but the frost flowers are what I farm for at this area. And sometimes Grendelweed will also drop while collecting these reagants. It seems to be a well known place to gather these reagants so you will likely see others after the same items.

In the Atheneum you will find 2 Stone blocks and a couple Ore, Fossil and Sandstone will also drop with the Stone and a Diamond or two will drop from the Ore. There is a doorway nearby, if you use it to go into the next area you will usually find Ore just on the other side. Again this area is heavily farmed but thats just because this is a great place to find these reagants.
Happy Farming.

Water Lily vs. Frost Flower

Frost Flower

While trying to be patient in the bazaar waiting to buy more Water Lily I decided to do a little research on where I can find the source of these strange flowers. Best I can figure out these flowers are dropped by some person named Normal Harvest, I’ve heard of Harvest Lord in Wizard City but not this Normal Harvest character.
Hmm very odd since I’ve never heard or seen this person in the Spiral.
Then I think it finally registers, give me a moment.
Oh right! It’s just like the Frostflower sometimes gives Grendelweed!!

Crafting the Watchtower Hall

watchtower hall wizard101

I’ve decided to give myself a new challenge and try crafting the Watchtower Hall house, it should prove to be a nice diversion from fighting what can feel like an infinite number of bears in Grizzleheim.
I can bearly stand any more fights, it seems a bear few minutes since the last grizzly battle … oh .. um.
Moving on.
I’ve decided on breaking the crafting down into sections and have started collecting items for the grassy mounds first. So have spent some time lately in the bazaar buying every Water Lily I could find.

Skyvern mount

skyvern mount

See the bug?
Eat that bug go get it!
Yikes I was only joking around.
There are some great new items from the Skyvern’s hoard pack, like this mount and the Velociraptor pet. Wands and gear and more, hope you have the chance to check some of it out.

I’ve got to stop playing in the garden I know.
I’m dreading to quest in Wintertusk since everything there is ice like myself, how difficult could it possibly be right?
Hmmmm suddenly it became very quiet.
Oh well it’s time I started questing through Grizzleheim so I can even get there.
I wish you luck and maybe even see you there.

Moo Shu Ninja pigs

wizard101 ninja pigs

Oh No!
Ninja Pigs everywhere i look or go, and I’m about to be clobbered by a gnarly green Troll.
Now that i think about it we did have ham for dinner and this could be Karma, or is it Kismet. Either way perhaps an ice blade or two and a blizzard spell will get me out of this mess and back to the Wizard City Bazaar to find a new wall hanging for my new Moo Shu house.
Shopping, ya gotta love it.

GroundFrog Day

GroundFrog Day comes around every year on Feb. 2 and marks a pivotal day in the transition from winter to spring.

According to Merle Ambrose, if the groundfrog leaves his den and sees his shadow, it’s both a sunny day and a sign that we’re in for six more weeks of winter. If he doesn’t see his shadow, winter will end soon.

Groundfrogs are demanding animals and quite honestly belong in the wild. Is there any upside? You bet. Similar to a piggle, my groundfrog will lovingly greet me when I come home, but then Bosco hastily scurries back into our pond and resumes catching crickets.
Catch you later GroundFrog gator.
